Psychometrists are directly involved in psychological testing.
What am I going to do in this occupation?
Psychometrists do selection and evaluation of people who apply for jobs. This is done according to the candidate's personality, aptitude, interests and abilities. Psychometrists use psychological measuring techniques, such as tests and questionnaires. The purpose of this is to be able to select the best candidate for a specific job. At some companies the psychometrist is allowed to write psychological reports under the supeIVision of a registered psychologist.
Requirements
What kind of personality do I need? Prospective psychometrists must have an interest in people and human sciences. A rational approach is a prerequisite. It is important that psychometrists are competent in as many languages as possible. To make a success of this career personal qualities such as friendliness, helpfulness, tolerance, tact, empathy, stability, reliability, a sense of responsibility, initiative and the ability to organise and to relate to people are important

Can I work for myself in this occupation?
Registered psychometrists with the necessary experience can work on consultation basis for various private companies. In this case they will mostly do testing of personnel.
