Production managers are responsible for the planning, organisation, co-ordination and control of production in a company. They must endeavour to produce given quantities at the lowest possible cost.

Production managers are responsible for the effective managing of organisations' production lines. They must ensure that the highest production standard is maintained. Production managers take part in decisions concerning the layout of the operating unit, the size and range of the product or service to be rendered, the design and organisation of the work processes, work standards as well as compensations of the employees. Production managers plan and schedule production activities and ensure that they are implemented correctly.
All these functions require that production managers work closely with other personnel in the management of the institution. They must stay in contact with the production workers in order to prevent any possible delay in production.
Requirements
What kind of personality do I need? Production managers must be practical and enjoy solving problems. They must be able to work with people. Mathematical ability and three-dimensional insight are important qualities.
