Musician Career Description
Musicians may appear in various roles namely composers, performers or conductors. In the role of performers, they play one or more musical instruments as soloists, accompanists or members of orchestras, bands or other musical groups.

The work of musicians varies, depending on their field of specialization. Musicians may play musical instruments, sing, write musical compositions, or conduct instrumental or vocal performances.
Performers are usually associated with a band or orchestra. There are many different instruments that can be used in various ways, in musical groups ranging from military bands, symphony orchestras to dance bands and pop groups.
Composers create original music. They transcribe ideas into musical notation using harmony, rhythm, melody and tonal structure.
Conductors direct orchestras or bands. They should be experienced musicians with detailed knowledge of the music to be played. They must be prepared to rehearse and conduct the orchestra or band in such a way, that the composer's desired effect is obtained.
Musicians can also work as music journalists or in the administration of organisations that promote and organize the performance of music. A further possibility is that of music teacher, with the main task of encouraging and developing the pupils' musical talents through instruction.
