Joiners and woodmachinists manufacture all the woodwork that is necessary for comfort as well as for ornamental purposes in a building, such as windows, doors and counters.
What am I going to do in this occupation?
Joiners and woodmachinists spend their time in a workshop where they use different
hand tools as well as electrical machine-tools.
They design, manufacture and assemble wooden components, for example built-in cupboards according to needs and specification. They are involved in the final
finishing of a building as the wooden components are usually the last items to be installed.
Requirements
What kind of personality do I need? Joiners and woodmachinists should have an eye for line and a sympathetic approach to making a "living object" from what is raw material. They need to be methodical, careful and have a steady approach to work and be able to do calculations and work accurately with regard to details and drawings.

Persons with the relevant training can be employed in government departments, manufacturing and mining enterprises, building industries and businesses.
