The task of automotive machinists is to renew internal combustion engines and engine components according to the manufacturer's specifications.
What am I going to do in this occupation?
When the engine's performance decreases or an abnormal amount of fuel and oil are used, it is necessary to rebuild or renew the engine.
The engine is removed from the vehicle or the work place and is brought to the re-builder. The engine and the engine components are dismantled according to manufacturer's instructions and cleaned thoroughly.
Automotive machinists have a very important task to inspect all the components thoroughly for cracks, wear and tear and other faults. Decisions are then made concerning what must be done to rebuild the machine components.
After the components have been built, they are cleaned thoroughly so that the engine can be mounted.
