Attorney Career Description
Attorneys are the persons with whom you first make contact when
you seek legal advice or if you have legal problems. Therefore it is important that the service they supply needs to be broad enough to cover a wide field of legal problems.
What am I going to do in this occupation?
Attorneys handle a large variety of affairs on behalf of individuals, companies and associations. These include work in the field of business and corporate law, civil and criminal litigation, property transactions, taxation, estate planning and business, as well as personal advice. Many attorneys consider themselves to be general practitioners, however there are attorneys who specialise in either commercial or criminal cases, or who focus on litigation, estate planning or tax-related matters.

What kind of personality do I need?
A person must be regarded as a fit and proper person by the Law Society and the Supreme Court before they can be admitted as attorneys. This requirement refers mainly to the moral integrity of a person. Honesty is considered to be an important prerequisite for practicing as an attorney.
