Assayer and Sampler Career Description
In the mining industry it is very important that information is obtained on the ore that is mined. It is the responsibility of the assayers and samplers to examine the ore on a regular basis and to take samples for analysis.
What am I going to do in this occupation?
Assaying and sampling are the processes through which large amounts of ore samples are used to determine the nature, quality and quantity of the ore.
The work of samplers is aimed at the underground working of the mine. They visit different sections of the mine on a daily basis to take samples of the ore. This is a specialised task, since the information obtained from the ore is vital for planning in advance. Assayers mainly work in laboratories.
